Have you ever met a person who only talks about the negative things in their lives? The ones who can’t see the good and only talk about the bad?
If someone were to ask me this question, and I was to be 100% honest, I used to be this person… So much so, it ended friendships with people that I held so dear to me but they just couldn’t take my negative, nothing ever good happens to me attitude.
Can’t say I blame them either… I didn’t much like myself at the time so I really can’t blame them for not wanting to be my friend or talk to me anymore…
Well, flash forward a few years to a more mature me… A me who finally sees everything differently.
The me who finally sees things with God’s eyes and not worldly eyes.
Someone who has so much hope and faith in God, that even during the tough times, I have learned to see the good in everything and be thankful for each and every circumstance.
Before Christmas 2017, we had a lot go wrong to where we had to depend on God and our families with almost every ounce of our beings… And through it, we have a stronger relationship with God and more faith in the future He has planned for us.
I got to thinking, I mentioned some negative things that happened or didn’t happen to our family last year why don’t I mention some of the wonderful blessings we had in 2017…
We had one of those years where all the good things outweighed the bad things by A LOT!
In January we started to attend church together, as a family.
Let me give you a little background about my husband…
He vowed, before he even met me, that he would never step foot in a church again…
Not only did he agree to start going once a month, we ended up attending weekly and on May 27, 2017, Joe accepted Jesus as his Savior!
Even my stepdad started attending church regularly with my mother!
And I started getting back into God’s Word on a regular basis!
On May 27, 2017
Earlier in the day, before my husband got saved, we decided to go to a yard sale a friend of mine was having at her rental property…
Not only did I walk away with some goodies, we ended up renting the house from them!
A three bedroom house at the low end of our budget with a friend as our landlord!
June 24, 2017
Not only did I marry my best friend on this day, but my maternal grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!
The rest of the summer held many more exciting things!
July 1st we moved into our new home.
End of July Aleyah started cheerleading where she made many new friends.
My mother and my stepfather got married!
We started our first year of homeschooling.
Joe and I attended our second Watkins Glen race together…Where I got to meet a few drivers, get some autographs, and got a selfie with Ryan Blaney! (Who just so happens to be one the best friends of my favorite driver Chase Elliott!)
In late Spring and then again in Fall, I attended two Bible studies at my church. Which both grew me in ways unimaginable!
October 7, 2017 both my husband and my daughter were baptized!!! Praise God!
In November I attended the Women of Purpose Conference with my grandmother and my aunt, which grew me even closer to God and opened up my heart to some past hurts, and felt the push (off the cliff, is what it felt like) to get back to writing posts for this blog.
Then I started writing posts again… There may not be many up yet, but I write what and when God wants me to… But don’t worry, I have about half a dozen topics up my sleeve that I can’t wait to write about!
End of November, both my husband and myself starting serving on the crew at our church to help those finding their way back to God. My husband is an usher and I am a greeter, we both love our positions and helping others!
I started using Plexus products, the Triplex and XFactor Plus, and started healing my gut and feeling so much better! (If you want to know more about these products, shoot me a message or e-mail and I will give you the deets!)
So, there were a lot more blessings in 2017 then there were struggles!
It is amazing how much one person can change their perspective on life in just a few short years and I owe it all to the transforming power of God!
“And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
By renewing my mind with God’s Word every day my perspective on life has changed. I am not the same negative Nancy I used to be.
I am the person who sees the joy in the disaster, the hope in the heartache, and the faith in the trials.
Let me encourage you to begin your days with God’s Word and I can guarantee you will see your perspective on life change too!
